“I have a rock, I have vacation, ah! ROCKATION!” quips Magenta. As an about-to-be unc who grew up on OG brainrot (for those wondering: PPAP), that joke officially converted me to become a fan of Magenta. But let’s back up a little.

It was a long wait for Singapore’s Bawiges (QWER’s fans), but after 16 stops and 4 months, ROCKATION, QWER’s first world tour, officially came to an end with the Singapore leg of the concert on February 28.

Held at The Theatre at Mediacorp, the concert kicked off guns-a-blazing with a high-octane instrumental medley by Chodan, Magenta, and Siyeon (Hina was unfortunately out sick). This medley was immediately followed by ‘G9JB’, ‘OVERDRIVE’, and possibly the band’s most popular song, ‘T.B.H’. With Magenta ending ‘T.B.H’ on an incredible bass riff and Siyeon launching into a cheerleader routine (complete with pom-poms), the energy in the room was palpable.

Between the electrifying moments, the members were also able to showcase their personalities during the talk stages. Between Magenta’s joke and the members’ pretend-punching each other for about 5 minutes, laughter was had by all the audience. Siyeon also brought up how unreal it was that this was already the last stop of the world tour and how the past 4 months felt like they had passed really quickly (me and her both), promptly causing the audience to “aww” in unison.

Of course, no K-Pop concert in Singapore would be complete without Singlish. While most idols usually choose to go with the safe “I love you la,” Magenta decided to learn “confirm plus chop” as her promise to Bawiges that QWER would be back. Okay, Magenta, you say one ah.

Capping off the concert was ‘Make Our Highlight’, complete with the members belting it out against a backdrop of digital fireworks. Emotional magnificence!

Before ROCKATION, I would consider myself a casual fan. I had listened to all their albums from cover to cover and ‘T.B.H’ was even in my “Your Top Songs 2025” list on Spotify, but I had never bothered to dive deeper into the individual members or their personalities. Now, after laughing an unnatural amount at Magenta’s joke and witnessing their electrifying performance, I can safely say I’m a convert. And so, I leave you with what I can only describe as one of the best Reels known to mankind in the hopes of converting you too:
