During a recent trip, I had the chance to experience something truly unforgettable: a full makeover and photoshoot by PoshPush, a premium K-styling service. The PoshPush Process
To start, after making my booking through the PoshPush website, I was asked to fill out a detailed questionnaire that is designed to give the stylists a clear sense of my aesthetic goals and profile. They asked about everything from my skin type and hairstyle preferences to my favourite part – which Korean celebrity, idol or overall style I wanted to channel for the makeover. I even went the extra mile to compile a style reference of my favourite K-Pop Idol looks.
Since I’m a huge BTS fan, we decided to go for a BTS Jin-inspired look. A couple of days later, I received my personalised styling proposal, and honestly, the attention to detail was remarkable – they thoughtfully incorporated my preferences while tailoring the style to suit my features. They even included helpful fashion tips to complete the overall aesthetic, which made me feel like they truly understood the vision I was going for and wanted me to feel confident and comfortable in it. On the day of the shoot, I was warmly greeted by my assigned manager, Sherlyn, a friendly and professional coordinator who spoke great English and instantly made me feel at ease and calming any nerves I had about the day ahead. As someone who doesn’t use make-up, I knew I could trust the process given that I was in the care of expert hands.
The Photoshoot
With my new look complete, we moved on to the main part – the photoshoot. The photographer and my manager worked seamlessly together, guiding me through different poses, facial expressions and angles. I won’t deny, I felt a bit awkward at the start, given that I was not quite sure how to strike that confident “idol” vibe. However, through their patient coaching and tips on posture and where to look, it eventually helped me relax and bring out a more natural and polished side of myself. By the time we wrapped up, I was amazed at how much fun it was. I was then shown a preview gallery of the shots taken, and I was genuinely shocked at how professional the photos looked and got to select my favourite images for retouching. These would be digitally edited and delivered alongside a short video recap, a printed portrait and a make-up prescription (includes a detailed guide outlining the products used to create my look).
Within just a few days, I received the edited images and video, and they looked incredible (that’s me?!). The photos were tastefully retouched, crisp in high resolution, which brought out all the right details. What made the experience all the more impressive was the outstanding level of customer service provided by the PoshPush team.
